We had our Blueprint 2023 sessions in December, so lets take the time to summarise and read over the below slides to familiarise ourselves with how we and our teams and colleagues can define our 2023 objectives.  You can click here to download the full Blueprint presentation.

The 'WHY' -slide 3

slide3

  • Reminding ourselves of our purpose, A place to call home, Financial wellbeing and Member Value.
  • "We're a good business, but I know that we're set up to be a great business."

Looking back- Slide 4

slide4

  • We've paid more to loyal, variable rate savers than any other comparable institution.
  • Smashed our commercial lending target of £400M for 2022.

The strategic context - slide 5

slide5

  • We have faced real life challenges; The war in Ukraine, Political Instability, Brexit, Covid-19 pandemic, the Cost-of-Living crisis.
  • "Its not all doom and gloom, there are opportunities ahead. We know we can deliver in times of turmoil."

The look ahead: slide 6

slide6

  • We want to become the 'Go to home for savings' so we'll offer a unique customer proposition, built on three big ideas, We'll always offer great value, We'll be effortless to interact with and We'll offer remarkable support.
  • "We now have a market- leading mortgage business, but there's still a huge opportunity for savings. Now isn't the time to sit back or stop what we're doing."

The 'What' - Slide 7

slide7

  • We've redefined our existing priorities from four to three. Savings Supercharged, Purposeful Analytics and Unbelievably Easy and Efficient.

Savings Supercharged- Slide 8

slide8

  • We want to become the 'go to home of savings' for our target customers.
  • We'll focus on providing; effortless interactions , fast and frictionless payments and visibly better offers.

Purposeful Analytics - Slide 9

slide9

  • Keeping this as a priority for 2023 means we'll take advantage of huge future opportunities to drive even better decision-making.
  • We'll be focusing on 3 key priorities: Fit for purpose, Data Driven Decisions and Purposeful outcomes.

Unbelievably easy and Efficient- Slide 10

slide10

  • In 2023 we plan to; move direct mortgages onto MSO (our mortgage sales platform) , We'll fix complicated or unclear processes- please speak up, and we'll invest in tools and training to support colleagues.
  • We all have a role to play in delivering our purpose and being easy and efficient to do business with.

In service of the customer - slide 11

slide11

  • We already have market-leading digital acquisition. We now need to extend that capability to service- essential to delivering our savings and mortgage vision.
  • We want our customers to feel our service is; simple, quick and easy, they have choice and control and they feel supported.

The 'How' - Slide 12

slide12

  • Our behaviours are key to unlocking our full potential.
  • Some wise words from Steve Williams, OBE, two-time Olympic gold medallist are: "You learn by doing- you don't win by talking, It's not just the people in the boat that win gold and ,  Anyone can say anything, as long as its because you fiercely care, and it's to make the boat go faster. "

2023 and the role of our behaviours- Slide 13

slide13

  • The 'how' we do things is just as important as 'what' we do - and all of us make a contribution.
  • All of us can take personal accountability to bring our behaviours to life and our objectives are a great way to do that, We all have the power to make this shift.

2023 and Steve's Tools- slide 14

slide14

  • Putting Steve's boat analogy into practice, before we all get into the boat, have a catchup with colleagues and stakeholders, don't wait until you're in the boat to say you have a sore shoulder!
  • Before the boat hits the water, make sure you have a plan, as once you are in the boat you need to be all in.
  • There are no passengers in the boat. Everyone moves their own bit as this is prioritising action over perfection.
  • Straight after a row discuss two questions, what went well, and what could have gone better, we need to be striving for continuous improvement.
  • Make sure we speak up in the room and not out of it, no offence meant or taken, but making sure everything is voiced so we can be better prepared for our next row.

All of us- slide 15

  • "Amazing things can, and will, happen. Thank you."
